About Us Our trips from Des Moines, Washington to Leavenworth started feeling more and more like going home, and our thoughts began to shape a plan that would make Leavenworth our home. Having had many enjoyable experiences in B&B's we felt that our appreciation for entertaining might be a way that we could justify the move. Our search for the perfect property began and continued over several years. Finally in 1999 we found the site for our future home and Bed and Breakfast. We marveled at the times we had enjoyed the sunshine at Barn Beach, or skied Blackbird Island only to end up looking across our favorite spot on the river to the places we had frequented on our visits. The next few years were spent designing, planning and creating the structure you see now. God blessed us with the realization of our dream as we broke ground in May of 2004. Mike's contracting experience more than qualified him to build our home and a refuge for our guests. That summer, Cindy continued her work as a dental hygienist in a specialty practice in Seattle while Mike and their 17 year old son, John made the move to Leavenworth. John started his junior year at Cascade High in Leavenworth, and Mike continued construction of River Haus in the Pines Bed and Breakfast. Cindy retired in November and began preparations for a Christmas move in date and now they are ready to make your stay a relaxing and restful visit!
